Bango sends notifications when consumer offers or entitlements change. These updates cover key events across the offer lifecycle, including billing and entitlement status changes.

Entitlement Cancellation Notifications

Notifications can be triggered by either the content provider or the reseller. They help keep reseller, content provider, and Bango records in sync. When an entitlement is canceled, Bango sends an entitlement termination notification with:
  • notificationReason: TERMINATION_SUCCESS
  • entitlementStatus: Revoked
This confirms the entitlement has been successfully terminated. During onboarding, Bango can configure a default notification URL for all notifications, or you can provide a notificationUrl when creating an entitlement, which will override the default value for all notifications relating to that specific entitlement. Default URL and an example of the response can be seen below.

Consumer Offer Cancellation Notifications

For consumer offer cancellation notifications, there are multiple notification types :
  • CONSUMER_OFFER_CANCELED: Sent when a consumer offer and all associated entitlements have been canceled, with the consumer offer status showing as “FULLY_CANCELED”

  • CONSUMER_OFFER_PARTIALLY_CANCELED: Sent when a consumer offer has been partially canceled, meaning one or more entitlements were canceled while others remain, with the status showing as “PARTIALLY_CANCELED”

  • CONSUMER_OFFER_CANCEL_PENDING: Indicates that a consumer offer remains active but has been scheduled for cancellation at a future date, with the status showing as “FULLY_ACTIVE” and subStatus as “PENDING_CANCEL”
